About Leadership San Francisco

Learning, Leading, Building Legacies

Leadership San Francisco is a nonprofit organization founded in 1985 with a mission to educate and develop community trustees who will make a significant contribution to strengthen and transform our community.

We operate a 10 month signature program addressing a variety of topics facing San Francisco and will be launching a new Intro to San Francisco program in 2025.

Classes are selected from emerging leaders from public, small business, corporate, and nonprofit sectors and represent a diverse spectrum of the Bay Area.

"LSF has produced many oustanding civic, business, and political leaders in San Francisco. I was in the class of 2003 and I am still in touch with many friends from that wonderful year."

"LSF is a critical part of the civic infastructure of San Francisco. I was lucky because I got to participate in LSF relatively early in my professional career, and there have been many benefits along the way."

"There is a balance between government, business, and non-profit, and no matter which group you are in, all of them contribute to the greater good. When you go through LSF, you have a sense that we are all on the same page."
