Executive Director

Michael Zwiefelhofer

Michael Zwiefelhofer is the Executive Director for Leadership San Francisco, a community service program operated as an affiliate of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. With Mike at the helm, each year approximately 60 community leaders are selected to participate in LSF’s Flagship 10-month long program where they are challenged to increase their understanding of the environment in which they live and work as well as take an active role in influencing the quality of life in San Francisco.


Mike comes to LSF from the world of small business, where for close to 10 years he owned Z. Cioccolato in North Beach and is a big advocate for the small business community.

Program Manager

Shannon Cairns

Shannon Cairns leads Intro San Francisco (IntroSF), Leadership San Francisco’s newest program, which helps San Franciscans jump start their civic leadership journey through a six-week series of sessions designed to deepen their knowledge about and connection to the City. A 2015 graduate of Leadership San Francisco, Shannon stayed engaged as a volunteer for years before joining the staff in December 2025. Shannon is now leading the third IntroSF cohort of 2026, with each cohort larger than the last. Before joining LSF, Shannon spent nearly 10 years as a project manager with the City of San Francisco, managing the design and construction of capital infrastructure projects on the City’s streets and waterfront.
