Join LSF at the Night of ideas

The Night of Ideas The Bay Area’s premier celebration of creativity and critical thinking returns to the San Francisco Public Library’s Main Branch! The 7th annual Night of Ideas on Saturday, April 11th unites local cultural organizations, visionary artists, and thought leaders to reimagine a future for urban life—one that is more equitable, culturally rich, and sustainable.


San Francisco City Librarian Michael Lambert and his Chief of Public Services, Dolly Goyle (LSF 2025) warmly invite all LSF alumni to an exclusive private reception before the venue opens to the general public. The reception will be held in Michael's private office.


Schedule of Events

5:30pm - 6:30pm - LSF Alumni and Friends meet at Emperor Norton's Bar for drinks on LSF and then walk to the library together.


6:30–7:15pm - Night of Ideas opening ceremony with special guests and live concert


7:30–11:30pm - Panels, discussions, and activations across multiple topics and stages


7:30–10:30pm - Fulton Plaza art, performances, food trucks, and civic activations


10:30pm - Dance party in the library atrium with local DJs and music
